My mother is a mystery, a dark horse.
“My voice is my other. I write and you are not dead.
The other is safe if I work.
Hélene Cixous
DEEP DOWN DARK HORSE was made with the designer Orlando Chasey-Crossley during Molins research leave from her post as Senior Lecturer in Photography at Roehampton University. This intimate webworld explores repulsion, abjection, traces of the ‘there-not-there’ and tissues and blood; it celebrates the gift of grief and how mourning expands the capacity for understanding. It was launched as a www exhibition under the umberella of 2010 Brighton Photography Fringe. It is an invitation to a journey and a transitional gift.
